Fat Tony Scalia: Way, WAY out of touch.
Tony's afraid that the brightest lawyers will avoid the federal judiciary if there's no money in it. The irony is that judging by the utter stupidity of what he says on a daily basis, we're apparently well past that point.
The federal judiciary will increasingly fail to attract the best-qualified lawyers if judges' pay doesn't improve, Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia said Wednesday.
"If you become a federal judge in the Southern District of New York (Manhattan), you can't raise a family on what the salary is," Scalia said during a speech to the Northern Virginia Technology Council.
Federal judges earned salaries of $165,200 in 2006.
Anyone who can't raise a family on $165K should not be in charge of their own finances, if you ask me.
Don't mind my saying so, but Scalia needs to be re-acquainted with reality. He's definitely lost touch with the real world.
