It's Teh Gays fault.

Wingnuts On ParadeFalwell dead.

The Rev. Jerry Falwell — founder of the Moral Majority and the face of the religious right in the 1980s — died Tuesday after being found unconscious in his office, a Liberty University executive said.
Ron Godwin, Liberty's executive vice president, said Falwell, 73, had been found unresponsive around 10:45 a.m. and was taken to Lynchburg General Hospital.

I won't speak ill of the dead, but I must admit that I can't work up any sympathy for a guy who said this in the wake of 9/11:

And, I know that I'll hear from them for this. But, throwing God out successfully with the help of the federal court system, throwing God out of the public square, out of the schools. The abortionists have got to bear some burden for this because God will not be mocked. And when we destroy 40 million little innocent babies, we make God mad. I really believe that the pagans, and the abortionists, and the feminists, and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, People For the American Way, all of them who have tried to secularize America. I point the finger in their face and say 'you helped this happen'.

Buh-bye, Jerry. Good luck in the afterlife... you should hope God's in a good mood so she'll be nice to you.

Update: When events like this one happen, the posters over at Fark usually have a field day. Today is no exception. What a bunch of big mean meanies - big mean hilarious meanies.

His judgment lies at the hands of his God, and that's enough for me.

He spent his life separating us, dividing us up in groups; one to love and the rest to hate. That flies in the face of the texts of his holy scriptures no matter how you parse the verses.

As one of the Pagans he blamed 9/11 on, all I can say is: I hope your God is more merciful than you ever were, Jerry.
