So... What did I miss?
Just kidding.
I didn't watch the speech (watching doddering old people on TV makes me very uncomfortable), but I've been monitoring a few live blogs and comment threads.
Consensus is that the Big Speech as Teh Suck. Jeffrey Toobin actually said it was the worst acceptance speech since Jimmy Carter in 1980.
Whatever bounce Palin provided last night has been utterly negated. Negative bounce, anyone?
Other stuff: Tom ridge apparently called McCain 'John Bush' while spinning after the speech... here it is.
Ann and Nancy Wilson were bugged that the GOP used their song 'Barracuda' after Palin's speech last night and their management sent the McCain campaign a cease & desist order today.
Ann and Nancy Wilson are pissed at the Republican Party and have fired off a cease and desist letter to the McCain/Palin campaign.
Specifically, the Heart women are upset that the GOP has used their classic "Barracuda" as a theme song for Sarah Palin. TMZ obtained a statement from Heart's rep, who says "The Republican campaign did not ask for permission to use the song, nor would they have been granted that permission."
The statement goes on: "We have asked the Republican campaign publicly not to use our music. We hope our wishes will be honored."
We're told Ann was watching TV today and heard the song at the convention when Palin was touted.
And what song did they wrap the convention with tonight?
'Barracuda.' Here's hoping Ann & Nancy get a nice check from the RNC for their trouble.
