Alaska Sen. Ted Stevens has lost his bid for a seventh term.
The longest-serving Republican in the history of the Senate trailed Anchorage Mayor Mark Begich by 3,724 votes after Tuesday’s count.
That’s an insurmountable lead with only about 2,500 overseas ballots left to be counted.
Expect Felonious Ted to pitch a fit and demand a recount. Also expect the Senate to slap him with a wet teabag, or an over-cooked noodle, and then, a week or so after the recount, to tell him to STFU and resign.

Mr. Stevens did not immediately concede the race. Presuming the results are certified, the senator could request a recount, but he would have to pay for it.
The GOP is broke, and Ted is up for a pile of fines and Legal fees. Will the GOP shell out the cash for Felonious Ted's lost cause? Can Ted pay? Will he really? The odds are way against him in a recount, considering this count has been so diligent.
