Talk About Out of Touch

Scott Wheeler's the head of the National Republican Trust, the group that last fall was busy claiming Obama wanted to give driver's licenses to terrorists and also forked over $2.5 million for last minute ads in battleground states bringing up the sheer horror that was the Rev. Jeremiah Wright. Well, Wheeler's got a piece up over at the ever-unreliable News Max that is a new exercise in Republican logic. I wouldn't normally go to such a place to read such garbage, but when I saw the headline "Tedesco Concedes; Obama Loses," then I knew laffs were sure to follow.

It's the usual idea we often hear--any news, no matter how bad, is good for Republicans. So they blew a lead in the NY-20 race. But Tedesco was a gentleman in conceding, and the fact it was close means Big Trouble for Obama. That much I expected. But I didn't expect this embellishment:

There is nothing sacrosanct to a Democrat seeking power. It is a safe bet that if Murphy had been down by the number of votes that triggered Tedisco’s concession, the 20th district would be swarming with lawyers claiming vote fraud and accusing Tedisco of stealing the election and their fellow Democrats in the press corps would dutifully report whatever the Democrats needed them to say.

I'm sorry, but wasn't there a little something going on in Minnesota that sounds sorta like that? I guess Scott was hoping we wouldn't notice.
