05/01/2004 Entry: "Rubs eyes, looks around..."
Slept late this morning, after getting home at about 3AM. Two cups of coffee, and I'm still not awake.
So, today sees Americans getting killed in Saudi Arabia as well as in Iraq, with most of the Middle East being pretty pissed off at the torture photos.
Makes me want to just go back to bed.

So, I saw a little political cartoon. It had George Bush as Uncle Sam saying, "I want YOU to die for your country" and "A vote for Bush is a vote for the Draft" on it.
What the hell? Is the draft going to be the next big issue?

its hard to make the draft an issue. when selective service was created, someone had the foresight to make it an automatic process when the #'s of soliders in the various branches falls below a certain point. that being said, it speaks volumes about re/enlistment numbers that people are talking about the possibility of the draft starting back up. also, with that being said, if bush somehow kickstarts the draft ahead of its predetermined point, then THAT could be made into a rather big deal.
